Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is working to tackle the issues of climate change and pollution. We recognise that our operations have an effect on the global and local environment and are committed to minimising adverse environmental impacts within financial, operational and resource constraints.

This is the sixth Annual Environmental Report produced by Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. It covers the 2018/19 financial period and summarises achievements made in terms of our environmental performance in the last year and outlines the progress towards our Environmental Objectives.

Under Section 6 of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016, Part 1, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, as a Public Authority, are required to publish a report to outline our actions to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem resilience.

We know that the greatest effect on achieving waste minimisation and energy conservation will be to adopt policies and practices that will change the way we conduct our business to have positive impacts on the environment. We have committed to do this within the parameters of the Green Dragon Environmental Standard​.​​​​​​​
