Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service currently operate standard Rescue Pumping Appliances all based on a variety of chassis marques (Volvo, Scania, MAN, Dennis and Mercedes). All are fitted with a high-pressure two-stage main pump, which is also capable of making foam via an on-board foam system. All appliances have two high-pressure hose reels and a set of rescue ladders.
In addition, each vehicle has a light portable fire pump, 4 breathing apparatus sets and two spare breathing air cylinders. Other miscellaneous equipment is also carried. The appliance has the following features:
Enhanced RTC rescue equipment including vehicle stabilisation and heavy lift air bags
Specialist casualty stretchers
Casualty stabilisation and first aid equipment
Capacity for 1800 litres of water
Incorporated fire-fighting foam system to allow for improved fire-fighting functionality and reduced water usage
