Operational Risk Management
The Operational Risk Management Department ensures that our operational personnel and the communities we serve, are afforded the best possible levels of safety and protection.
This is achieved through continuous reviewing of our operational activities, and by developing ‘best practice’ working procedures for firefighters to adopt. New procedures and working practices are delivered to firefighters through an interactive Operational Learning System that is also managed by the Department.
In addition to its procedural works, the Department also reviews and assesses the effectiveness of operational equipment, identifying technological advances and improvements that can benefit firefighter safety and operational efficiency.
Through our work, all those who live, work or visit our operational area can have the assurance and confidence that the Service is capable of affording them the highest levels of protection.
The Head of Operational Risk Management is Area Manager Chris Margetts.
