Kidwelly Fire Station

Kidwelly fire station community area has an approximate population of around 8100; much of this is made up from the rural communities of Pembrey, Trimsaran, Mynyddygarreg, Llandyfaelog and Ferryside.

Kidwelly Fire and Rescue Station has 14 on-call firefighters on its establishment and has a rescue pump type fire engine.

The main risks for Kidwelly and its surrounding communities are incidents such as road traffic collisions and flooding.  A main trunk road (A484 Llanelli - Carmarthen) passes through the station area and there are numerous B roads that connect the surrounding villages
Station personnel have been proactive in reducing the risk for the local inhabitants and visitors by carrying out  Home Fire Safety checks, where crews give out important safety advice and fit free smoke alarms if required.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is currently recruiting firefighters in the Kidwelly area, in particular those who are available from their workplace or home in day time hours. This is a valuable opportunity for those who wish to make a difference in their local community to do so. More recruitment information can be found at or by phoning 01267 226832.
