Newcastle Emlyn Fire Station

The Newcastle Emlyn station area has a population of 10,687. Newcastle Emlyn is a town straddling the counties of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, though officially it is in Carmarthenshire and lying on the River Teifi.

Newcastle Emlyn is a busy market town providing services for residents of the town and the wider farming communities. Unlike many small rural towns Newcastle Emlyn has managed to maintain a wide range of local services, based mainly on small family businesses. The town’s main employer is Saputo, which manufactures mozzarella cheese using locally sourced dairy produce.

The Station provides an emergency response to the surrounding villages of Cenarth, Capel Iwan, Drefach, Henllan and Rhydlewis along with other small villages and hamlets.

The main risks are the network of roads feeding in from three directions and the river Teifi which flows alongside the town.
