Haverfordwest Fire Station
The County town of Haverfordwest is situated on the upper reaches of the Cleddau estuary with a population of 25,529.
The station covers a large area including Johnston, Newgale, Letterston, and the A40 as far as Canaston Bridge.
The town is the hub of the Pembrokeshire road network with the A40 trunk road from the east passing through to Fishguard and other main routes to Milford Haven, Pembroke and St Davids all radiating from the town. This network of busy A roads means that road traffic collisions are one of the main risks in the area. The railway to Milford Haven and the Murco refinery passes the town, with the Cleddau River running through the town centre causing occasional flooding to the low lying market area.
The remainder of risks in the area comprise the shops in the town centre, and retail park, light industry and airfield at Withybush. Farming is the main industry within the Haverfordwest station area.
