Priority for 2014-2015
• Reduction in Special Service Calls (e.g. Road traffic collisions, Rescues, Flooding etc.)
The station has experienced an increase in road traffic collision call activity. We will continue with our proactive approach to continually reduce these incidents. We will therefore continue to work in partnership and manage issues that are beyond the scope of any one agency. The command will strengthen links with Powys Road safety, Community Safety Partnership, Dyfed Powys Police, Go Safe and the Motor cycle action group, targeting vulnerable road users (16 - 24 Year olds, Motorcyclists and those aged over 70) in line with Welsh Government road safety delivery plans. Additional road safety advice and guidance is available via www.mawwfire.gov.uk
The station has also experienced an increase in Special Service Call activity compared to the previous 12 Month Period, this reflects the increase in instances of extreme weather experienced in the county, and highlights the need for us to enhance our multi agency approach.
The command will strengthen links with the Community Safety Partnership, Natural Resources Wales and Dyfed Powys Police in order to further develop partnership working opportunities, with the aim of providing greater resilience, more effective response and a reduction in the number of special service calls attended.
