Llanwrtyd Wells Fire Station
Llanwrtyd Wells the smallest town in Britain in the heart of the Brecon Beacons has a population of 1875 the station provides emergency cover and support to the town and its surrounding communities. Notable premises include a variety of restaurants, bed and breakfasts, guesthouses, hotels, cottages and pubs. It is a popular tourist location with many visitors to the town and surrounding area each year.
The main risk for Llanwrtyd Wells and its surrounding communities are the A and B road networks in the area. The crew also support the Ambulance Service in the area by providing a Co-responder Service.
Priority for 2014-2015
• Reduction in secondary fires (grassland & Chimney fires).
The station has experienced an increase in Secondary Fires and will work with the command’s Community fire safety team and partners to identify areas & residents that would benefit from guidance and advice. We will continue to roll out our farm fire safety initiative & work with local chimney sweeps to reduce these incidents.
