​Wholetime Firefighter Vacancies

The Service works in collaboration with the North Wales Fire & Rescue Service and South Wales Fire & Rescue Service in terms of an All - Wales Recruitment Campaign​ when ​Wholetime Firefighter vacancies arise.

These recruitment campaigns usually take place every 2-3 years and advertising and publicity campaigns take place in the lead up to the recruitment of Firefighters.

​​Service Control Vacancies

SALARY : £20,709 - £27,601  (PRO RATA)

Applications are invited for the post of temporary Part-Time Firefighter (Control) within the Service Control Room, currently based at Llangunnor, Carmarthen. Please be advised that the Control Room will be transferring to the Public Service, South Wales Police Headquarters, Bridgend in April 2016. 

The duration of the contracts will be initially for 12 months. Individuals should possess keyboard skills to operate a computerised command / control and mobilisation system within the Control Room.

The shift pattern covers an eight day period, consisting of 4 days working either afternoons, evenings or nights (minimum of 32 hours per week) followed by 4 days off.  The successful applicants will be required to complete an initial training course prior to commencing the above shift pattern.

​Support Staff Vacancies 

£20,253 - £22,212

Applications are invited from suitably qualified personnel for the post of Workshop Mechanic, based at Earlswood. The post is 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday). The role will be for a period of six months initially.

The role will involve carrying out routine maintenance, along with mechanical, electrical and bodywork repairs of both HGV and light vehicles, plant and equipment to an agreed standard.

Candidates should possess an LGV Licence.
