The option of “returning to employment” can be offered when an employee has voluntarily terminated their On Call Contract with MAWWFRS and requests a return to employment within four years of their last recorded day of duty.

This facility is only available to employees looking to return to the role of a firefighter. Although personnel who had previously held the role of a Crew or Watch Manager are eligible to apply, their return can only be to the role of a firefighter.

Please be advised that unfortunately Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service is not recruiting external Wholetime Transfers at this time. Should you wish to be retained on a list for consideration should the Service seek to recruit external candidates, please complete and return the External Transfer Request Form​ together with a CV and any certificates you have which confirm the qualifications you have attained within your Service. Please be advised that in line with the Service’s Records Management Procedure, your returned documentation will be retained by this Service for a period of 24 months, following which, should no vacancy arise it will be securely disposed of.

Support Staff Vacancies

GRADE 4 - £19,554 - £21,166

A vacancy has arisen within the Transport Department as an Equipment Technician based at Earlswood. This role is 37 hours a week (Monday – Friday).

The successful individual will carry out routine maintenance on all Firefighting equipment maintained by the Transport Department, inclusive of ladders, portable pumps, PPV fans and RTC tools (not an exhaustive list).
