REQUEST TO RETURN TO EMPLOYMENT (ON-CALL ONLY) 

The option of “returning to employment” can be offered when an employee has voluntarily terminated their On Call Contract with MAWWFRS and requests a return to employment within four years of their last recorded day of duty.

This facility is only available to employees looking to return to the role of a firefighter. Although personnel who had previously held the role of a Crew or Watch Manager are eligible to apply, their return can only be to the role of a firefighter.

WHOLTIME OPERATIONAL TRANSFERS
FLEXIBLE DAY CREWING STATIONS
MID AND WEST WALES FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE

Please be advised that Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking applications from individuals who may wish to transfer into the Service within the role of Firefighter and Crew Manager at the following Flexible Day Crewing System (FDCS) Stations:

Pontardawe

Carmarthen

Ammanford

Milford Haven

Pembroke Dock

Haverfordwest

Aberystwyth. 

The Service is inviting applications from:

Current Wholetime Operational Competent Firefighters 

Current Substantive Wholetime Operational Crew Managers*

*Individuals who have successfully completed the relevant ADC assessments are eligible to apply

The FDCS operates on the principle that during daytime hours the station is crewed on a wholetime basis; at night stations are crewed by a combination of the Wholetime Duty System (WTDS) personnel that worked during the day and On Call personnel who are purely conditioned to that duty system. Please be advised that the Salary Allowance associated with this Shift System is 7.5%.

Due to the contractual obligation to provide On-Call cover, there is a requirement for individuals to reside locally to the Station. Please be advised that the location will need to be approved by the Service.

TEMPORARY COMMUNITY SAFETY ASSISTANT

COMMUNITY SAFETY DEPARTMENT

POWYS COUNTY COMMAND

GRADE 4 - £19,554 - £21,166

 

A temporary vacancy has arisen within the role of Community Safety Assistant, within the Community Safety Department based at Powys County Command. This post will initially be until 31 March 2020, and 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday).

 

The roles main focus will be to provide community safety advice through home safety audits.   The role will also include the provision of effective administration of the home safety process and to the community safety team as well as supporting a wide range of other community safety initiatives.

​​TEMPORARY HEALTH, SAFETY & WELFARE – PROJECT MANAGER
CORPORATE RISK DEPARTMENT
SERVICE HEADQUARTERS, CARMARTHEN
GRADE 8 - £29,636 - £32,371

A temporary vacancy has arisen within the Corporate Risk Department as a Health Safety & Wellbeing Project Manager, based at Service Headquarters, Carmarthen. This post is 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday) and is until 31 March 2021.

The successful individual will assist the Service in complying with all legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice relating to workplace health, safety and welfare.

The role also involves providing competent advice and guidance to all Managers and Employees within the Service on health, safety and welfare matters.
