WATCH MANAGER A - DIRECT TRAINER VACANCY

Please be advised that Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service currently has a Watch Manager A – Direct Trainer vacancy within the Training Delivery Department based at Newtown, and is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who may wish to transfer into the Service.

Successful applicants will be involved in planning, coordinating and delivering both On Call and BA Initial courses to meet the needs of this challenging phase of recruitment. 

Interested individuals should hold at least one of the following

  • Breathing Apparatus Trainers qualification
  • Road Traffic Collision Trainers Qualification 
  • A Fire Behaviour Trainers Qualification 
  • A First Aid/Trauma Care Trainers qualification would also be desirable

DEPUTY HEAD OF ESTATES DEPARTMENT
SERVICE HEADQUARTERS, CARMARTHEN
GRADE 10 - £33,106 - £35,093

Applications are invited for a suitably experienced and/or qualified candidate for the post of Deputy Head of Estates Department. It is essential that applicants hold a relevant Higher National Diploma level or degree in a Property related discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience. The post is 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday).

The successful individual will be responsible for supporting the Head of Estates to ensure that the Service’s property portfolio is fit for purpose for a modern day Fire and Rescue Service. 

It will be the successful post holder’s responsibility to deal with the management of operational and administrative buildings and assist with budgetary control projects, as well as the quality assurance of projects and services.

TEMPORARY EMERGENCY SERVICES NETWORK (ESN) PROJECT MANAGER

Applications are invited for a suitably experienced and/or qualified candidate for the post of Temporary Part-Time Emergency Services Network (ESN) Project Manager. The post is 18.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) and will be a fixed term contract until 31 December 2019.

The Emergency Services Network Programme is a large complex programme to deliver a replacement to the emergency services communications network.  This £5B project will replace the Airwave technology used by Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service to the new Emergency Services Network.

This role involves providing overall control and coordination for the delivery of ESMCP into Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.  Working with colleagues across the service to ensure timely and effective implementation.
