Draft Corporate Plan 2018 - 2023


There is a national focus on empowering communities to come together and solve problems to build the society they want. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority recognise and acknowledge that our communities and partners have a vital role in helping us improve our service, reduce risk and develop safer communities. 

There is no avoiding the fact that the financial climate we are currently operating within, will continue to place additional pressures on the levels of service we provide as we stretch our resources even further.

We are committed to adapting to these challenges in a positive way and our Draft Corporate Plan 2018 - 2023 sets out our Strategic Priorities for the next five years. The plan also contains our 12 Draft Improvement Objectives for 2018/2019​, which have been designed to help us deliver against our Strategic Priorities. These Improvement Objectives have been set in the context of the significant challenges facing public services, but also reflect an appetite to embrace innovative ideas and new ways of working. We have also been keen to embrace the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and have revised our planning arrangements to reflect our new duties and commitments.

We are confident that the Draft Improvement Objectives contained within our Draft Corporate Plan 2018 - 2023 set out a robust programme of activity for the next year, which will enable us to deliver on our Strategic Priorities and recognises the short, medium and longer term needs of the communities we serve. However, current uncertainties make planning for the long term extremely challenging and as such, we will review our Corporate Plan annually to allow us to produce meaningful Improvement Objectives against our Strategic Priorities on a year by year basis.
