    Fire and Police Announce Plans for New Joint Public Service Centre
    ​Plans for a Joint Public Service Centre (JPSC) for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS) have been approved. Chief Fire Officers from both Services and the Chief Constable of South Wales Police officially launched the joint project at a meeting today, (16 April) to merge the two Fire and Rescue Service’s fire control functions and co-locate at South Wales Police headquarters in Bridgend.

    Port Talbot Fire Crew Save Man’s Life
    ​Fire crews from Port Talbot Fire Station saved a man’s life last night after a fire broke out in his home in Sandfields, Port Talbot.

    Chip pan fire in Kidwelly
    ​Appliances attended a chip pan fire at a property in Kidwelly. One male extinguished the fire by removing the pan from the heat and covering with a cloth. The male casualty received slight burns to right hand, treated by son.

    Chip pan fire in Johnston
    ​Appliances from Milford Haven and Haverfordwest attended a small chip pan fire at a property in Johnston, Haverfordwest. Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. One male casualty treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
