Fire Protection Performance Information

Outcomes

Outcomes are the results and consequences of activities and outputs.

Despite the best efforts of our Business Fire Safety Officers to work with those properties we perceive present the greatest risk to the community, and enforcing the law where necessary, unfortunately fires in non-domestic properties still do happen, and injuries can occur.

Between 2009 and 2014 our fire protection work has brought about a reduction in non-domestic fires, injuries are at a very low level, but unfortunately there have been five deaths.

We will continue to work hard to maintain these excellent outcomes and strive to protect the communities of Mid and West Wales from the risk of death and injury caused by fire.

The charts below are the results and consequences of activities and outputs.

The graph below shows a decrease in fires in non-domestic properties from 315 in 2009-10 to 240 in 2013-14.

The graph below shows an increase in injuries from non-domestic fires from 13 in 2009-10 to 17 in 2013-14.

The graph below shows that the number of deaths from fires in non-domestic properties over the last five years had remained extremely low apart from 2011-12 when 4 deaths were recorded at a single industrial event.
