Deputy Chief Fire Officer
I was appointed Assistant Chief Fire Officer in June 2004. My current responsibilities are “to provide strategic support to ensure and facilitate an efficient and effective service delivery consistent with the organisational aims” I provide line management support to the six operational County Commanders, Group Manager Fire Control, Transport Manager, Comms/IS Manager and the Premises Manager.
I have been a fire service employee since 1972 and my experience within Mid and West Wales includes undertaking the roles of: Technical Support Officer, Best Value Officer, Training Manager and Swansea County Commander before taking up my current post.
My academic qualifications include being a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers and obtaining a Masters Degree in Public Service Administration at Warwick University.
I am an active member of the Chief Fire Officers Association and I represent Wales on the Technical Support Logistics working group as well as facilitating the Wales Transport Group.
My current pastimes / hobbies / fads include most outdoor sports, driving my sports car and supporting Manchester United.
