To mark the beginning of the university term, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has teamed up with Hotel Services of the UWA to encourage thousands of students to keep safe from fire in rented accommodation.

Two fire and rescue vehicles from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, along with two officers from Ceredigion Command Headquarters attended an incident at a Pumping Station on Tresaith Road, Aberporth on Friday 1 February at 14:25 hours.

A charity car wash will be held at Aberystwyth Fire Station on Saturday 22 December between 10:30 am – 15:30 pm. Proceeds from the event will go towards a new volunteer fire station at Borth, the construction of which is planned by the Friends of Borth charity for 2008.
