Recent Incidents:
18/11/2008 : 02:23:44 - Two fire engines were called to a fire at Brynmill, Swansea. The fire was confined to an electricity supply on the first floor and two persons were led to safety from the second floor.      18/11/2008 : 00:48:08 - Three fire engines were called to a fire at a property in New Quay where a male person had sadly died.      17/11/2008 : 22:02:04 - Two fire engines from Powys and one from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire involving the bedroom of a property which was destroyed by fire at Middletown, Welshpool. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus sets and one hose reel jet.      17/11/2008 : 14:54:06 - Two fire engines were called to a road traffic collision which involved two vehicles at Mount Pleasant, Swansea. One person who had suffered spinal injuries was released by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment before being conveyed to hospital by ambulance. Police were also in attendance.      11/11/2008 : 20:16:00 - Two fire engines were called to a fire involving a ground floor kitchen of a three-storey domestic property at Uplands, Swansea. Four breathing apparatus sets, a hose reel jet and ventilating fan were used to tackle the fire.      11/11/2008 : 01:30:00 - Nine fire engines were called to a barn fire at Montgomery where a range of farm buildings were involved in fire. High volume pump, four main jets, three hose reel jets and two ground monitors were used to tackle the blaze.

Fire Chiefs Warning After Four Die in Five Days in Wales
Chief Fire Officers from the three Fire and Rescue Services in Wales are issuing a severe warning to members of the public following four fatalities in house fires across Wales in just five days.

Fire Service Smoke Alarm Saves Property
A smoke alarm fitted in a flat by fire service community safety staff has prevented it from serious damage in a fire. Neighbours were alerted to the fire in the flat in Heol Emrys shortly after 19:30hrs on Sunday night. Two fire engines from Morriston attended the fire and it was extinguished by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

Man Dies in House Fire
An elderly man has died in a house fire at Lewis Street, New Quay in the early hours of Tuesday morning (18/11/08). Firefighters from New Quay, Aberaeron and Llandysul attended the incident at 00:48 this morning.

Powys Barn Fires
Following a recent spate of fires in Powys, Dyfed Powys Police, the Fire Service and the Forensic Science Service have reviewed all four fires. They are currently being treated as arson because they are all unexplained and all quite close together geographically. A criminal investigation is underway involving CID officers from Welshpool and Newtown.
