<title>Fire Service Smoke Alarm Saves Property</title>
<description>A smoke alarm fitted in a flat by fire service community safety staff has prevented it from serious damage in a fire. Neighbours were alerted to the fire in the flat in Heol Emrys shortly after 19:30hrs on Sunday night. Two fire engines from Morriston attended the fire and it was extinguished by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.</description>

<title>Powys Barn Fires</title>
<description>Following a recent spate of fires in Powys, Dyfed Powys Police, the Fire Service and the Forensic Science Service have reviewed all four fires.  They are currently being treated as arson because they are all unexplained and all quite close together geographically.  A criminal investigation is underway involving CID officers from Welshpool and Newtown.</description>

<title>Roof Destroyed by Fire</title>
<description>The roof of a bungalow in Waungron Close, Treboeth has been totally destroyed by a fire today. The Fire Service were called shortly after 13:30hrs today and two crews from Swansea Central and Morriston attended the scene of the blaze. The turntable ladder from Morriston also attended the incident.</description>

<title>Fire Authority approves Risk Reduction Action Plan</title>
<description>Elected Members of the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority have, this week, approved their Risk Reduction Action Plan for 2009/2010.  This Annual Action Plan is the last to be produced as part of the 2007/2010 Risk Reduction Planning cycle.  It outlines the Authority&#180;s range of initiatives and achievements to date and its intentions for 2009/2010. The plan takes account of Welsh Assembly Government guidance, and details how the Authority&#180;s Fire and Rescue Service will most effectively use its resources to reduce fires and save lives.</description>
