REPORT TO THE FIRE AUTHORITY
DATE: 6th February 2006

1) Risk Reduction Planning Guidance for Fire and Rescue Authorities
2) Service Standards for Attendance to Fires in the Home

Summary

At the meeting of the Resources Committee held on 16th January 2006 Members considered the outline response to the draft guidance on Risk Reduction Planning for Fire and Rescue Authorities and Service Standards for Attendance to Fires in the Home.

The two documents are undertaking a period of consultation until 31 January 2006.

Given that the two consultations are inextricably linked and have the same deadline date, it is appropriate to respond to both together.

At the Resources Committee meeting on 16th January 2006 Members resolved that an appropriate response be prepared by the Authority’s officers to be forwarded to the Welsh Assembly Government by the end of January 2006. This is based upon the paper considered at the Resources Committee on 16th January 2006.

The attached response (PDF, 59kb) is that sent to Welsh Assembly Government on 30th January 2006 for the information of Members.
