If, following the application of the Public Interest Test, the Committee resolves pursuant to the Act to consider these items in private, the public will be excluded from the meeting during such consideration.
The Public Interest Test in this matter is:-
“The report relates to the Appointment of Assistant Chief Fire Officer Posts. To make this information public would disclose personal data relating to individuals in contravention of the principles of the Data Protection Act. The public interest in disclosure is therefore outweighed by the public interest in maintaining confidentiality.”
It is RECOMMENDED that in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
