Wales Programme for Improvement
The three Fire Authorities in Wales are now subject to the Wales Programme for Improvement (WPI), and there is no longer a requirement for them to publish a Best Value Performance Plan. Instead, the Wales Programme for Improvement requires a comprehensive assessment by each authority of its fitness to achieve continuous improvement. This is achieved through a number of audits and self-assessments and checked via the peer assessment process the summary of which is provided in the Improvement Plan section of the Risk Reduction/Improvement Plan published each 31st October.
