Between 0800 and 0800 on 12/03 Fire Control received 277 incident calls including 70 grass fires and 39 controlled burning notifications.

Two fire appliances attended a grass fire covering 20 hectares near a farm in Penmaen, Gower, near Swansea.

17:20
One fire appliance attended a road traffic collision involving a private motor vehicle at Lon Gwynfryn, Uplands, Swansea. A person was assisted from the vehicle by firefighters using a spinal board before conveyed to hospital by ambulance.

Two crews from Abercrave and Pontardawe were mobilized to a grass fire at a farm towards Rhydyfro, Pontardawe. Ten hectares were destroyed by fire and a further 3 hectares are well alight. A strong breeze is blowing smoke and embers towards nearby properties.

A grass fire involving a large area of grass scrub land at Llanfyllin, Bala Road, Llangunnog. Six fire appliances in attendance; two from Welshpool, Newtown, Montgomery, Llanfyllin and the water bowser from Builth Wells. Firefighters are making steady progress in tackling the fire using beaters. The area has been sectorised and the fire is affecting some of the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service area. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service are also assisting. The extent of the fire is too large to measure at present and is burning on both sides of the road in some areas.

A grass fire was reported in the training area on the mountainside at Sennybridge, Brecon. Three appliances were mobilized to tackle a fire extending to 17 hectares encroaching on to the mililitary training area.

Wern Road, Llanelli fire reported in a derelict building, no persons reported inside. Two water tenders from Llanelli and the Aerial Rescue Appliance from Swansea are in attendance. Firefighters used two hose reel jets to tackle the fire with two thermal imaging cameras assisting the search for hotspots. The property has been sectorised and crews are fighting the fire from two different directions.

10/3/10 to 11/03/10 - Between 1800 and 0800 Fire Control received 140 incident calls including 39 grass fires.

22:38
Three fire appliances attended a barn fire at a property in Capel Iwan, Newcastle Emlyn. The barn containing a small quantity of hay and petrol was totally destroyed by fire. A two hose reel jet water shuttle was in use.

Two fire appliances from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and one from South Wales attended a fire involving 10 - 20 year old trees at the rear of Margaret Terrace, Blaengwynfi, Cymmer.

Three fire appliances attended a fire involving 150 hectares of grass and one hectare of nursery plantation trees which were destroyed by fire at Wernddu Road, Ammanford. Firefighters used one main jet, three hose reel jets and beaters to tackle the fire.

Two fire appliances attended a fire involving a touring caravan in the Morfa area of Llanelli. There were two propane cylinders in front of the caravan and the fire had spread to a private motor vehicle and a car port. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, two thermal imaging cameras and a main jet to tackle the fire.Police had arranged for residents from neighbouring properties to be moved to an adjoining building.

Between 1800 and midnight Fire Control received approximately 219 calls for 70 grass or forestry fires in the Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire and Abercrave areas.

Three fire appliances attended a fire involving 100 hectares of grass on Rhos Common, Crynant, Seven Sisters. Firefighters used hose reels and beaters to tackle the fire.

Four fire appliances attended a grass fire involving 40 hectares at Garnswllt Mountain, Ammanford. Firefighters used beaters to tackle the fire.
