26/08/2010 : 23:51:00 - Three fire appliances attended a fire involving a first floor bedroom of a Residential Care Home at Tiers Cross, Walwyns Castle, Milford Haven. Firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to tackle the fire, together with a thermal imaging camera. A male occupant who had suffered smoke inhalation received oxygen therapy from Fire Service personnel.      25/08/2010 : 19:19:00 - A fire appliance attended and Fire Service personnel, together with the Police and Mountain Rescue team carried out a search of the Rhyd y Defaid Avenue area, Derwen Fawr, Swansea following a report of a missing person. A thermal imaging camera was used and following the search no one was found in the area.      25/08/2010 : 09:30:00 - Three fire appliances and the Aerial Rescue Pump attended a fire affecting the roof space and first floor of a mid terraced two storey property at Hywel Road, Haverfordwest. Firefighters wearing eight breathing apparatus tackled the fire using four hose reel jets, a ladder, small gear and a ventilating fan, together with a thermal imaging camera.      22/08/2010 : 08:50:00 - Two fire appliances from Carmarthen and Llanelli attended a rescue incident involving a male person in a private vehicle at a river bank on Trimsaran Road, Cwmbach, Furnace, near Llanelli. Fire Service personnel and ambulance paramedics rescued the casualty before he was conveyed to hospital.      21/08/2010 : 19:48:00 - Three fire appliances, a turntable ladder appliance from Morriston, a water bowser appliance from Tumble and an environmental unit from Llanelli attended a fire involving a single storey building which was well alight and contained paints and butane cylinders at Cynon Close Enterprise Zone, Llansamlet, Swansea. Firefighters used two ground monitors, two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.      21/08/2010 : 18:51:00 - Two fire appliances attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles at Temple Bar, Lampeter. Two persons who had been trapped were released by Fire Service personnel using small gear before they were conveyed to hospital by ambulance.

Successful Phoenix Course Completed in Cardigan
Four young people and a youth worker from Ceredigion, successfully completed a Phoenix course run by Ceredigion Community Safety Department and the Specialist Youth Team at Cardigan Fire Station last week (week commencing Monday 16 August).
