EXTERNAL TRANSFERS (EXISTING COMPETENT WDS FIREFIGHTERS ONLY)
The Service does occasionally (depending on the current requirements of the Service) consider applications for transfer into Mid and West Wales, from competent Wholetime Duty System Firefighters working within other UK Fire and Rescue Services. Consideration will also be given to individuals working within the role of Crew Manager or above, however, transfer into the Service will only be at Firefighter level. Any other vacancies available externally will be advertised within the WDS Employees section.
If we are currently considering an intake of external transferees this will be indicated above, however, should this not be the case and you are interested in adding your details to our holding list in the meantime, please forward the following information to the Service’s Human Resources Department :-
- Expression of interest in the form of a covering letter.
- Full CV and career history.
- A completed Transfer pro-forma, which is available to complete from the form below.
- Proof of assessed competence as a WDS Firefighter (where possible - although any subsequent offer of transfer will be dependent upon receipt of this).
- List of preferred stations and Duty Systems i.e. Wholetime Shift, Day Crewed (including Retained cover obligations from within 5 minutes travel to station) or Self Rostered Crewing (including Retained cover obligations from station based accommodation), currently only available at Pontardawe Fire Station, Neath/Port Talbot County Command.
Should you require any further information in the meantime please contact the WDS Establishment Team either by telephone 01267 242637, or by using the Recruitment Enquiries Form.
