At a glance

In 2020/2021 we agreed to progress four key areas of work, which were; Our People, Our Communities, Our Environment and Our Future. We have produced videos for each Strategic Aim highlighting the Service’s achievements over the past 12 months.

Our People

In 2020/2021 we said that we would ensure our staff have the knowledge and skills they need to safely deliver and develop our services. We also said we would ensure they have the right capabilities for the future and are representative of the communities they serve.

Our Communities

In 2020/2021 we said that we would focus on our partnerships with stakeholders and improve our communication and key messages with our communities. With COVID-19 as a backdrop, the importance of this Strategic Aim took on a new meaning and we were able to achieve some truly fantastic things which not only highlighted how vital collaboration is and but ensured the on going health, safety and wellbeing of our communities in unprecedented times.

Our Environment

Protecting the environment remained a priority for the Service last year and we agreed to reduce the purchase and consumption of single use plastic within our Service and reduce the Service’s energy consumption and move to a more sustainable energy strategy.

Our Environment Waste Tender

In 2020/2021 we went out to tender to improve our waste management. When procuring goods and materials we focus on the life cycle of packaging and consider how it impacts on our capacity to reuse or recycle the material while also taking into consideration the impact to our communities.

Our Future

Finding ways of enhancing and improving what we do was a key area of focus in 2020/2021 and we agreed to develop an IT infrastructure which supported alternative ways of working by utilising technology to reduce operational risk and to create a forum to explore the ideas and suggestions from our staff.
