2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

The Service was created in 1996 by the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994 following the merger of Dyfed, Powys and West Glamorgan Fire Brigades

Over the past twenty five years, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service continues with it's vision to be a world leader in emergency response and community safety.

More than just fires

2021 celebrates 25 years of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service! We think that this is a great opportunity to show how versatile the Service is and show our communities that we do so much more than fight fires alone!

Do you have any stories you’d like to share with us from the past 25 years? Perhaps you’re a retired Firefighter or employee or have an experience or memory to share! Whatever it may be, we would love to hear from you and to feature some stories of days gone by.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to ask if you have any old photographs of the Service, perhaps from a community event we have attended or your local station. If you can assist with either of these requests, please email Linsey Perry

Keep your eyes peeled on our website and our Social Media Channels for stories and features. If you share any posts of images on Social Media please use our hashtags #morethanafireservice #notjustfires and tag us, so that we don’t miss your posts!

Don't forget to tag us into your #morethanafireservice and #notjustfires social media posts.
