The Plan outlines five Improvement and Well-being Objectives which will be delivered over the coming 12 months.

 

Five Ultra-Low Emission Kia Sportage have recently been introduced to Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service's fleet, and have been specially equipped with emergency response warning systems.

On Saturday, 25th March, the crew from Newtown Fire Station held a car wash to raise funds for The Fire Fighter Charity.

On Saturday, March 24th, the Brecon crew attended a domestic property fire caused by charging electrical equipment left on a bed. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is issuing a reminder on the importance of not leaving devices or appliances charging unattended.

In support of International Women’s Day 2023 the Service held an event at the National Botanic Garden, to celebrate the journeys and achievements of inspiring women, both within our fire family and locally. The event ran throughout the entire day, with four female speakers, group workshops and peer networking.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews in Pembrokeshire will soon be joined by some very special helpers as they respond to incidents – a collection of handmade teddy bears with important roles to play!

 

The Fire Fighters Charity have announced a record-breaking year of their annual Bag it and Bank it Recycling Championship – and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service have made the top 5 of UK fire and rescue services!

Charlotte Owen, from Llanelli entered our Farm Safety Competition where we asked for budding young artists to design an image on what Farm Safety meant to them.

Last week on International Women’s Day, Shona Powell-Hughes-Wakley, Nicola Davies, Karen Mayze and Nina Bishop, all members of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service headed to Nottingham to take part in the ladies first GB Women’s Fire Service Rugby match against the British Police.
