Last week, the Pontardawe crew rescued a dog, Maude, who was trapped in a ravine on the Graig-y-Pal mountain.

Over the last couple of weeks, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has attended several water and flood-related incidents.

Following recent spells of heavy rain, Natural Resources Wales have issued several flood warnings and alerts for areas across mid and west Wales.

At its peak, 14 fire appliances, a High-Volume Pump and Incident Command Unit were on the scene, with around 100 Firefighters working tirelessly throughout the afternoon, evening and into the night to bring the incident under control.

On Monday, 23/05/2022 at 11:47am, firefighters from Montgomery were called to a shed fire in the Churchstoke area, Montgomery. At 12:16pm today, Friday 4th March 2022, crews from Brecon and Llandrindod Wells were mobilised to a water rescue on the River Usk near Brecon Promenade. A kayaker had got into difficulty on the water and was rescued by a fellow kayaker before the arrival of the Fire Service.
