Llangenech train fire - Update 09:30hrs - 28/08/2020

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service have extinguished the fire, involving a freight train, near Pontarddulais Road, Llangennech, Carmarthenshire.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service handed over the scene to British Transport Police and Network Rail at 08:30am on Friday 28th August 2020.
Area Manager Simon Jenkins, Corporate Head of Response said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to our crews, who have worked tirelessly to fight and contain the fire at a challenging location and in difficult weather circumstances; thank you also to our Joint Fire Control staff and departments, throughout the Service, for their continuous support to the crews at Llangennech.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their support and patience to our crews, during what is a very difficult time for local residence and business.”
