Your Fire Service, Your Say! We need your input!

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is consulting on its Improvement and Well-being Objectives as part of its draft Annual Business Improvement Plan 2023/2024.

Chief Fire Officer, Roger Thomas said:

“We are delighted to introduce our Annual Business Improvement Plan 2023/2024. Our Annual Business Improvement Plan, highlights what we will do in the coming business year to deliver against our five-year Commitments. The Plan also contains five Improvement and Well-being Objectives for 2023/2024, which have been aligned to our longer-term Commitments, set out within our Strategic Plan 2022-2027 and to the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 Wellbeing Goals."

The Annual Business Improvement Plan is part of a suite of documents designed to deliver our vision, mission and values, and has been developed to recognise the challenges we face as a Service. We want to be able to respond quickly, flexibly and collaboratively to these challenges in order to deliver the best possible services to the communities we serve.

We are committed to adapting to any challenges faced positively and believe that collaborative working is key to the future of our emergency services to successfully deliver shared outcomes, enabling us to improve the way we work, share resources and ultimately save more lives. We also remain committed to finding innovative solutions to improve the way we work, enhance firefighter safety, reduce our impact on the environment and ultimately contribute to the wellbeing of our communities.

We recognise that listening to your views is crucial if the Service is to continue to deliver an effective, efficient and improved service to keep you and your families safe. The draft Improvement and Well-being Objectives are outlined in more detail on our website, along with our online survey. We would encourage you all to let us know what you think, by sharing your views to help shape the future of your Fire & Rescue Service.

Whilst this is a formal process for consulting, we would also encourage people to use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to have informal conversations.

The consultation is open from Tuesday, 27 September 2022 to Tuesday, 06 December 2022. To view our draft Plan and to participate in our consultation, please complete the online survey which can be found on our website.  This is YOUR Fire and Rescue Service, and we want to know what you think of the services we provide and how you believe we can continue to make improvements and future savings.

We really welcome your feedback and are offering the chance to win a £100 Love2Shop gift voucher, just in time for Christmas!  All you need to do is let us know what you think by completing our online survey.
