Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service receive Healthy Working Wales Gold Excellence Award

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) have been successfully awarded a Gold Standard accreditation from Healthy Working Wales.

The Healthy Working Wales (HWW) programme aims to support and encourage employers to create healthy working environments, take action to improve the health and wellbeing of their staff, manage sickness absence and engage with employees effectively. All of which can help to achieve a range of positive business and organisational outcomes.

On the 13th  March 2023, MAWWFRS were informed that they had successfully completed the Enhanced Status Check (ESC) and achieved a 12 month revalidation of the Corporate Health Standard in recognition of their achievements in workplace health and wellbeing, to Gold CHS level.

Julie James, assessor who carried out the check on behalf of Healthy Working Wales said:

"What was very clear from this assessment was that the ethos and culture of staff safety and wellbeing is embedded in everything they do.”
Well done to Sarah Davies and Seamus Doyle from MAWWFRS Corporate Risk team for their dedication to completing the process.
