Fire Cadets Games 2023

This International Youth Day on Saturday, 12th August, our Fire Cadets will be attending the Fire Cadets Games in Merseyside, joining more than 170 Fire Cadets from across the UK.

The Cadets will be taking part in activities that reflect what young people do within their Fire Cadet unit, including home fire safety checks, first aid scenarios and public engagement. There will be elements of firefighter activity with the relay fire sports event and water rescue, as well as other inclusive activities throughout the weekend.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service Fire Cadet Coordinator Karen Mayze said:

Fire Cadets provides fun and challenging inclusive opportunities for young people to reach their full potential contributing to safer, stronger, and healthier communities.”

The weekend will come to a close with a presentation from Merseyside Chief Fire Officer Phil Garrigan for all the Cadets.
