Training Session for Firefighters by Paramedics

Several of our Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service sites are shared with the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust (WAST).

On Wednesday, January 18th, paramedics based at the Swansea Central station conducted a training session with the on-duty firefighters, discussing and covering a range of topics such as airway blockages, burns, oxygen therapy and more.

Head of Response, Southern Division, Steven Davies, said:

“It’s great to see that crews at Swansea Central have been working closely with their WAST colleagues to share knowledge and skills that will help to improve their working knowledge and understanding on operational incidents.

Our shared stations have real benefits for our partnership working and ensure we have effective relationships that add real value in the workplace and, ultimately, help keep the communities we serve safe.”
