White Ribbon Accreditation

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are showing their committed support to ending male violence against women by becoming White Ribbon re-Accredited.

We have taken a stand to end all male violence against women by becoming White Ribbon Accredited. White Ribbon UK is the leading charity engaging men and boys to prevent violence against women and girls. We are White Ribbon Ambassador because ending violence is something we feel passionately about. By being an ambassador, we want to raise awareness and challenge the problematic behaviours, gender stereotypes and inequalities that can create a culture of fear and lead to violence.

Safeguarding Lead and Firesetter Intervention Office Jay Crouch said:
“At MAWWFRS we have many positive male role models. We are committed to #MakingTheChange by challenging and educating our workforce and communities we serve to end violence against women and girls”.

We will continue to strive to appoint more volunteer ambassadors to carry the message out to more men and continue to raise awareness within the local community. By wearing a white ribbon, it is a promise to never to commit, excuse or remain silent about male violence against women.

We can all help to end men’s violence against women when we choose to #ChangeTheStory.
