Incident: Barn Fire in Penycae

At 11.09am on Monday, March 25th, the Abercrave, Seven Sisters, Pontardawe, Brecon and Lampeter crews were called to an incident in Penycae, Swansea.

Crews responded to an agricultural barn measuring approximately 20m x 20m that was well alight.  The barn contained approximately 100 sheep which were released by crews, as well as agricultural equipment which was destroyed by the fire.  Crews utilised four breathing apparatus sets, four main jets, two ground monitors and two light portable pumps to extinguish the fire.

Crews continued to dampen down before leaving the scene at 4.36pm.
