Residents across Mid and West Wales are being encouraged to donate unwanted clothing and textiles by using Fire Fighters Charity textile recycling bins located outside many local Fire Stations.

By simply dropping off unwanted items at one of the charity’s textile bins, donations help support the Fire Fighters Charity while also giving pre-loved clothing a second life.

Last year, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service helped the Fire Fighters Charity raise a total of £23,852 through donations made via textile bins alone – equating to 212,689kg of donated textiles.

Glynneath Fire Station placed 10th overall in the Fire Fighters Charity leader board, collecting an impressive 2,655kg of donations.

This year, the Service is proud to support the charity’s #BagItBankIt campaign, which encourages more people to use our textile recycling bins to responsibly dispose of unwanted clothing and textiles while supporting a vital cause.

Donating is easy:

  • Bag up your unwanted clothing and textiles
  • Locate your nearest Fire Fighters Charity textile bin
  • Drop off your donation
