On Tuesday, 17th June a Pass Out Parade was held at Seven Sisters Fire Station to celebrate the achievements of the latest group of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) Fire Cadets.

Fire Cadets is a national uniformed youth organisation supported by the National Fire Chiefs Council and run by individual Fire and Rescue Services throughout the UK.

Over the course of the last two-years these dedicated young people have learnt a wide range of valuable skills and techniques through Fire Station ground training and education in the classroom. The Cadets have gained a Fire Cadets qualification and were presented with an achievement certificate from Chief Fire Officer Roger Thomas KFSM.

This celebration marked a significant milestone for Seven Sisters Fire Station, it was their 20th year of the running the young firefighting programme, which has since evolved into the Fire Cadets. This long-standing commitment reflects just how much the programme means to the community. Thank you to all the instructors who have given their time and dedication over the years.

Fire Cadets Co-Ordinator Karen Mayze said:

“A heartfelt congratulations goes out to the Seven Sisters Fire Cadets, who put on an outstanding display at their passing out parade. They showcased not only their practical training but also their determination, resilience, and teamwork. This fantastic group of young people have developed a wealth of new valuable skills during their time with us. Their hard work and commitment were recognised and rewarded in front of proud friends, family members, and local dignitaries.”
