On Tuesday, 13th January, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s (MAWWFRS) Northern Division Business Fire Safety team facilitated the ‘Connect For…2026’ Public Services business engagement day held at Aberystwyth University.

The aim of the day was to establish and maintain professional networks, supporting our ability to enhance service delivery, reduce risk, support health and well-being and understand the priorities of Regulators.

This year’s event was opened by Corporate Head of Community Risk Peter Greenslade, followed by presentations from MAWWFRS’s Community Safety, Operational Response and Business Fire Safety teams.

A successful ‘Inside the Audit’ session was delivered, which provided an understanding of planned auditing that takes place as part of our regulatory role.

Over 30 people attended the event, representing a wide range of organisations that either have responsibilities for public safety, or work with the most vulnerable in the communities we serve.

Business Fire Safety Manager Martyn Field said:

“As a Service we are proud to be able to deliver an event that provides the opportunity to develop relationships and work alongside other local organisations. It’s the perfect opportunity to engage with stakeholders, make new connections and strengthen existing ones.”

Thank you to all our speakers, partners, and staff who joined us for this meaningful day of connection and collaboration.
