At 4.06am on Tuesday, March 24th, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Kidwelly, Pontiets, Llanelli, Morriston, Tumble, Carmarthen and Port Talbot Fire Stations were called to an incident at Lady Street in Kidwelly.
Crews responded to a fire involving one three-storey, mid-terraced property. The fire was located on the property’s third floor.
Crews utilised eight breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets, two 45mm hoses, four thermal imaging cameras and small gear to extinguish the fire. Crews were supported by the attendance of the water bowser appliances from Tumble and Port Talbot Fire Stations, as well as the aerial turntable ladder appliance from Morriston Fire Station.
Some neighbouring properties were evacuated and other residents were advised to stay indoors while the incident was ongoing. After the fire was extinguished, Firefighters visited neighbouring properties to deliver fire safety information and advice.
Crews left the scene at 1.45pm.
