At 10.59am on Tuesday, October 21st, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Tregaron, Aberystwyth and Lampeter Fire Stations were called to an incident at Ysbyty Ystwyth.
Crews responded to a fire involving one single-storey property, measuring approximately 10 metres by 8 metres, that was well alight on their arrival. Crews utilised one hose reel jet, two 45mm jets, two breathing apparatus sets, one light portable pump to extinguish the fire. A water relay system was established from a nearby lake and thermal imaging cameras were used to monitor the property after the fire had been extinguished. The property was significantly damaged by the fire.
One casualty was treated by Ambulance Service Paramedics at the scene and was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.
This incident was especially difficult for crews due to limited access, with the single-track lane leading to the property inaccessible by fire engines.
Crews left the scene at 3.11pm.
