Incident: Property Fire in Rhydargaeau

On Monday, February 10th, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Carmarthen and Llandysul Fire Stations were called to an incident in Rhydargaeau.

At 1.31am on Monday, February 10th, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Carmarthen and Llandysul Fire Stations were called to an incident in Rhydargaeau.

Crews responded to a building, constructed of corrugated sheeting, that was well alight on their arrival.  Crews utilised four breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets and small gear to extinguish the fire.

No casualties were reported.  The building was completely destroyed by fire.

After extinguishing the fire, crews continued to dampen down the area before leaving at 3.32am.

The role of an On-Call Firefighter provides many opportunities for personal and professional development, through training, teamwork, leadership and problem solving.  On-Call Firefighters receive payment for their services, including retainer fees and call-out payments, supplementing their income from other employment.
