Steve Amor, a retired Watch Manager from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, has been awarded an MBE by His Majesty The King in his 2025 Birthday Honours List.
Steve, who completed 35 years’ service with the Fire and Rescue, working his entire career at Llanwrtyd Wells Fire Station, has been awarded an MBE for his services to his community.
Chief Fire Officer of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Roger Thomas KFSM said:
“I was delighted to hear that our former colleague, Steve Amor, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s 2025 Birthday Honours.
During his long an illustrious career at Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Steve worked tirelessly to support his local community not only in a Fire and Rescue Service capacity but also as a Medical Co-Responder supporting the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust (WAST).
Steve has also supported numerous voluntary groups within the Llanwrtyd Wells area and as such he is a worthy recipient of this prestigious award.

The role of an On-Call Firefighter provides many opportunities for personal and professional development, through training, teamwork, leadership and problem solving. On-Call Firefighters receive payment for their services, including retainer fees and call-out payments, supplementing their income from other employment.
