On Monday, November 4th, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) crews from Llanelli, Ammanford, Pontarddulais and Kidwelly Fire Stations took part in a training exercise at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli.
Named ‘Exercise Maverick’, the session simulated a fire within a multi-storey property with casualties trapped inside. The exercise provided the opportunity for crew members to test and refine their skills in Incident Command, operating Breathing Apparatus sets as well as general fireground procedures.
As well as the MAWWFRS crews taking part, the Fire Response Team at Prince Philip Hospital was also present, with team members able to test their response to such an emergency.
