On Tuesday, August 6th, crew members from Swansea Central Fire Station took part in their annual Water Rescue Training, which was held at Loughor Estuary.

This year’s training had a particular focus on rescuing casualties from mud, with a variety of emergency situations simulated as part of the exercise.  The training session allowed crew members to develop their specialised skills to safely extract casualties from hazardous environments, which included navigating unstable terrain, using a variety of tools such as ropes, pulleys and flotation devices, and conducting swift water rescues.

The training emphasised the importance of teamwork, situational awareness and quick decision making to ensure the safety of crew members and casualties.
