On Thursday, November 6th, the crew at Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s (MAWWFRS) Newtown Fire Station held an ‘At Your Service’ recruitment event.
Aimed at people from all backgrounds, the event provided the opportunity to visit the Fire Station and explore career opportunities within various emergency services and armed forces.
Representatives from MAWWFRS, Dyfed-Powys Police, the Royal Navy, the Welsh Ambulance Services Trust, the British Army and Careers Wales were on hand to provide advice, share their experiences and answer any questions on careers within their organisations.
The event also included demonstrations of Dyfed-Powys Police’s search dogs and drone, giving a practical example of the different roles available within the emergency services. Free refreshments were also provided by the Rapid Relief Team, which supports the emergency services, and people who have been directly impacted, at a moment’s notice with food and refreshments during incidents.
