On Saturday, November 24th, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) crews from Ammanford and Tumble Fire Stations, as well as specialist Animal Rescue Team from Swansea West Fire Station, were called to an incident near Drefach in Carmarthenshire.

Crews responded to assist a retired Spanish Police horse who had slipped on a concrete floor while walking into his paddock.  The elderly, 26-year-old stallion was unable to get back up without the assistance of MAWWFRS crews.  Within an hour, crews were able to utilise their training and equipment to bring the horse back to his feet, who was then happily grazing in his paddock shortly after.
