On Monday, November 18th, the On-Call crews from Llandysul, Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen Fire Stations took part in a hazardous materials (HAZMAT) training exercise in Pontweli.
Firefighters took part in a simulated chemical spill in an industrial setting. The training exercise provided the opportunity for Firefighters to wear full protective gear and practiced containment procedures and use specialised equipment.
Crews were able to follow decontamination procedures for personnel and equipment, communication during such an incident and safety measures to prevent exposure.
