The Fire Station is situated in the Preseli Hills in the north of Pembrokeshire with a population of 5883, the station covers much of the Preselis from Maenclochog to Boncath. The A487 runs through the town, taking traffic from the A40 to Cardigan. The town has a junior school and large bilingual comprehensive school, drawing pupils from a large area of Pembrokeshire. Other risks in the area are mainly domestic, small commercial and farming.

St David’s is the smallest city in Wales and is situated on a peninsula to the west of Pembrokeshire with a population of 4007. The communities of Solva, Croesgoch and Trefin are also served by the crew from St David’s Fire Station. The population of St David’s almost doubles in the summer season due to the number of visiting tourists, it is an ideal location for exploring the western fringes of the county.
