Social Media Rules

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service uses social media to share updates, safety information and engage with our communities.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) uses social media to share updates, safety information and engage with our communities.

Please note:

  • Our social media accounts are only monitored Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm
  • In an emergency, always call 999
  • For non-emergency and press enquiries, please use our website or contact us directly

Managing Our Channels

Our corporate accounts are managed by our Communications Team.

Some Fire Stations and departments may operate their own social media accounts, which are monitored less frequently.

We aim to respond as quickly as possible, but some enquiries may take longer or need to be passed to the relevant department.

Our Approach

We want our social media channels to be safe, respectful and informative spaces.

We welcome:

  • Constructive discussion
  • Questions about our services
  • Positive engagement with our content

House Rules

We ask that users do not post:

  • Offensive, abusive or inappropriate language
  • Personal attacks, bullying or harassment
  • Discriminatory comments against any individual or group
  • Misleading or false information
  • Content that is unlawful or breaches copyright
  • Repetitive, off-topic or deliberately provocative comments
  • Promotional or commercial content

Posts or comments that fall into these categories may be removed without notice.

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove comments
  • Disable commenting where necessary
  • Block or report users who repeatedly breach these rules

We will not engage with or respond to abusive messages.

Where content may breach UK law, we may refer it to the appropriate authorities.

Users are responsible for the content they post.

Comments made by members of the public do not necessarily reflect the views of MAWWFRS.

We welcome feedback about our service.

  • Compliments help us recognise good work and share positive feedback with our staff
  • Comments help us improve and develop what we do
  • Complaints help us understand when things haven’t met expectations

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we encourage you to contact us through our formal process.

We aim to:

  • Investigate complaints fairly and fully
  • Deal with them as quickly as possible
  • Ensure they are handled politely and professionally

Often, concerns can be resolved quickly, but where needed we will carry out a full investigation.

You can find full details of how to provide feedback or make a complaint here: Compliments, Comments and Complaints
