At 3.02pm on Monday, February 24th, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Aberaeron and New Quay Fire Stations were called to an incident in Dihewyd in Ceredigion.
Crews responded to a fire confined to a hob within a domestic property. Crews utilised two breathing apparatus sets, one hose reel jet, one thermal imaging camera and one positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire.
Crews were also involved in rescuing three dogs from the property. Crews left the scene at 4.41pm.

Cooking Safety
The fire is believed to have started by the cooker being turned on accidentally, with items left on top of the cooker.
Around 60% of fires in the home start in the kitchen, but it’s easy to enjoy cooking more safely with a little planning and awareness.
Information on cooking safety is available on Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s website.
