On Monday, September 28th, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) held a Passout Parade to mark five new On-Call Firefighters completing their initial training.

Held at the Service's Training Centre in Earlswood on Monday, September 28th, the parade marked the culmination of weeks of intensive training and showcased the skills the recruits have developed in preparation for serving their local communities.

Family, friends and colleagues gathered to watch a series of drill yard demonstrations, providing an insight into the demanding training undertaken by the new Firefighters.  Throughout the course, the recruits gained experience in a wide range of operational skills, including basic firefighting techniques, equipment deployment, trauma and casualty care, and responding to road traffic collisions.

The Passout Parade represents an important milestone for each Firefighter as they prepare to join their respective Fire Stations across the Service area.  As On-Call Firefighters, they will play a vital role in protecting their communities, responding to emergencies and supporting prevention and safety initiatives.

The occasion celebrated not only the successful completion of the course but also the commitment, dedication and resilience shown by each recruit throughout their training.

Everyone at MAWWFRS would like to congratulate the new On-Call Firefighters on their achievement and wish them every success as they begin their operational careers.

Congratulations and welcome to the Service!
