Crews from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) recently demonstrated their skills at the UK Rescue Organisation’s (UKRO) All Wales Extrication, Trauma and Rope Challenge, held in Cardiff.
MAWWFRS was represented by two teams, with one team competing in the First Aid category and the other in the RTC Extrication Challenge. Both teams performed to a high standard, showcasing their operational expertise, teamwork and commitment to public safety.
In a particularly outstanding achievement, the RTC team secured a third place overall in the UK, competing against some of the best Fire and Rescue teams from across the country. This success has earned them selection to represent MAWWFRS at the upcoming UKRO National Finals in Essex.
Participation in events such as the UKRO competitions not only highlights the Service’s capabilities but also provides valuable opportunities for learning, development and sharing best practice.
